This first year accounting course will give you a thorough background in the basic accounting procedures used to operate a business. The accounting procedures presented will also serve as a sound background for employment in office jobs and preparation for studying business courses in college. Because the complete accounting cycle is covered, it is easy to see how each employee's job fits into the cycle for a business, an important qualification to employers. |

Business
Law is designed to give students knowledge of law in relationship to business
practices and to personal issues of law. This helps the students to function
effectively as citizens, consumers, and workers as well as to emphasize their
rights and responsibilities. |

This course will introduce you to the world of business and help prepare you for the economic roles of consumer, worker, and citizen. This course will also serve as a background for other business courses you may take in high school and in college, assist you with consumer decision making, prepare you for future employment, and help you effectively perform your responsibilities as a citizen. |

This course is devoted to integrated applications such as
word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation applications.
Students will use the Microsoft Office package of programs. |

Fifth |
Students in the fifth grade receive keyboarding twice a week for 50 minutes each time. Students learn the correct reaches for all letters and punctuation keys on the keyboard. After learning the entire alphabetic keyboard we do various activities to reinforce the correct reaches for the keys learned. Computer skills are emphasized in three areas: 1) word processing, 2) Internet searching and 3) keyboarding. Students will also work with Paint program. |

Students in the sixth grade receive keyboarding twice a week for 50 minutes each time. Students review the correct reaches for all letters and punctuation keys on the keyboard. Activities are designed to increase the student's accuracy in keying. Computer skills are emphasized in four areas: 1) word processing, 2) Internet searching, 3) keyboarding, & 4) PowerPoint presentations. The students will be able to insert Internet graphics, clip art, and work with word art. |

Seventh |
The
seventh grade class is during the spring semester. Students will work
to improve their keyboarding speed, control, and accuracy. They will complete
projects using Word and Internet. They will be introduced to
Excel. They will be able to insert Internet graphics, clip art, and
work with word art. |

Eighth |
The
eighth grade class is offered during the fall semester of the school
year. Students will use Word to format letters, reports, and
articles. Students will be aware of and practice Internet Ethics.
They will be able to insert tables, Internet graphics, clip art, word art,
auto shapes, and text boxes. Students will complete several projects
combining Word and Excel. Students will be introduced to Microsoft
Publisher. |
